Limited Provider Networks

If you live in the Houston area and select a primary care provider (PCP) in a Limited Provider Network such as Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, you have open access to all physicians and locations within that respective network.

Important: Beginning September 1, 2017, if your PCP on file is in the Kelsey-Seybold Clinic provider network and you see a provider who is not associated with the same provider network without your PCP's direction, you will receive non-network benefits even if the provider you see is part of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX) HealthSelect^SM network.

If you live in the Houston area and select a Kelsey-Seybold physician as your PCP, you will have open access to all Kelsey-Seybold Clinic providers and locations. That means you will not need to get a referral from your Kelsey-Seybold PCP to see another Kelsey-Seybold provider. If you need medical services that Kelsey-Seybold does not provide, your PCP will refer you to an affiliate provider of Kelsey-Seybold.

If you have a Kelsey-Seybold PCP and see any provider who is not associated with Kelsey-Seybold without your PCP’s direction, you will receive non-network benefits even if the provider is in the BCBSTX HealthSelect network.

If you have a Kelsey-Seybold PCP and want to see a doctor or other provider in the BCBSTX HealthSelect network who is not affiliated with Kelsey-Seybold, you can change your PCP selection by calling BCBSTX and it will be effective immediately.

• Saturday hours for pediatric care at Fort Bend, Clear Lake, Spring and Tanglewood Clinics.

If you are enrolled in HealthSelect of Texas^® and do not choose a Kelsey-Seybold PCP, you will not be able to see any Kelsey-Seybold provider. Kelsey-Seybold providers do not take referrals from doctors outside Kelsey-Seybold.
