Services for pregnant participants and new mothers
Covered preventive services during pregnancy
Preventive check-ups and screenings can help find illnesses early and improve your health and wellbeing. If you are thinking of becoming pregnant, or if you are pregnant now, preventive screenings are covered by your plan and are available at no cost to you when you visit an in-network provider.1
Talk with your doctor about preventive screenings for anemia, gestational diabetes, bacteriuria, Rh(D) compatibility and preeclampsia.
Breast pumps and other covered services for breastfeeding moms
If you are breastfeeding, your HealthSelectSM benefits include:
- breastfeeding counseling sessions for female participants in conjunction with childbirth, and
- the rental or purchase of a manual or electric breast pump, accessories and supplies.
How long before delivery can I get my breast pump? How late can I purchase one?
The earliest date that a breast pump can be purchased for a delivery is 30 days prior to the estimated delivery date. You or your provider should indicate the estimated date on your claim. Breast pumps are covered under the plan as long as you are still breastfeeding.
